Use case

DC ↔ DC interconnection for an extended data center campus

Provision of inter-DC wavelengths

Context

An extended data center campus needed to interconnect multiple sites and white rooms with high capacity, very low latency, and real resilience. The challenge was to provide optical transport capable of supporting critical platforms for both internal and client use, while ensuring multiple physically diverse paths.

Solution Deployed

To meet the site requirements, ielo implemented a dedicated DWDM infrastructure between the sites, delivered over truly separate routes. Some sections required the creation of new fiber paths, so our teams carried out dedicated civil engineering, including directional drilling, to achieve the necessary layouts and avoid existing points of fragility.

Result

Stable, scalable, and redundant connectivity, supported by:

  • Fully diverse paths
  • High-performance optical capacity
  • Flexible services (Ethernet up to 400 Gb/s, Fibre Channel…)
  • Infrastructure specifically built to absorb campus traffic growth

The campus now benefits from a fully controlled DC↔DC link, sized for current and future needs.
