Use case

High-Capacity infrastructure project between data centers

Design, construction & deployment of dedicated routes

Context

A data center needed to interconnect multiple buildings on its campus with an optical infrastructure capable of handling massive traffic volumes, ultra-low latency, and long-term scalability. Existing solutions did not meet the required capacity, route control, or resilience levels.

Need

  • Create high-capacity interconnections between multiple critical sites
  • Have dedicated fibers ready to support intensive DWDM usage
  • Design a bespoke, documented, secure, and durable route
  • Rely on a single point of contact able to design and build the network, not just lease it

Solution Deployed

ielo handled the design, construction, and deployment of new dedicated optical routes, leveraging its in-house Engineering Office and civil works capabilities.

The project included:

  • Comprehensive route studies upfront (route selection, site constraints, security measures)
  • Deployment of high-capacity dark fiber, including 864-fiber cables
  • Dedicated civil engineering work to ensure routes met client requirements
  • Direct interconnection between data centers, independent of shared fiber infrastructures

Result

The client now benefits from a robust, scalable, and fully controlled optical infrastructure capable of supporting current and future needs: campus interconnections, critical services, gradual capacity upgrades, and new applications.

A network foundation built to last, designed from the outset for high capacity and resilience.
