France-IX Selects ielo for the partial renewal of the fibre network supporting his peering platform

France-IX, one of Europe's leading Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), has selected ielo, a fibre infrastructure operator serving the wholesale telecom market, to connect the majority of its Points of Presence (PoPs) through its fibre-optic network.

France-IX is France’s leading provider of Internet traffic exchange services, commonly known as peering. The group delivers public and private interconnection services through its neutral exchange platforms located in Paris, Marseille, and Lyon.

As part of its metropolitan development strategy, France-IX sought to enhance the interconnection of its Points of Presence by optimising its fibre infrastructure while improving link security and ensuring route diversity.

Following a comprehensive technical and commercial evaluation of the available solutions on the market, France-IX selected ielo, which will support more than 50% of its fibre-optic network infrastructure.

The density and extensive reach of the ielo network will enable France-IX to benefit from shorter routes and a wide range of alternative paths, helping meet metropolitan-scale diversity and resilience requirements.
