ielo acquires Lasotel
ielo, France's national fibre infrastructure operator serving telecom operators, data centres, and institutional organisations, announces the acquisition of Lasotel, a telecom infrastructure operator based in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
As part of Lasotel’s judicial recovery proceedings, the Lyon Economic Activities Court approved ielo’s acquisition offer on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
A fast-growing independent player, ielo has established itself as France’s leading neutral fibre infrastructure provider for businesses. By continuously expanding and interconnecting its network across the country, ielo has built a profitable business model and a strong financial foundation, enabling long-term investment in a market undergoing significant consolidation.
The transaction provides for the full transfer of Lasotel’s operations, infrastructure, and employees, while ensuring uninterrupted service for customers within a sustainable and structured framework. The acquisition preserves activities that are directly aligned with ielo’s core telecom infrastructure business.
This acquisition will strengthen ielo’s network footprint across numerous metropolitan areas in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, where the group already operates more than 3,000 km of fibre-optic infrastructure, making over 600,000 businesses eligible for its services.
With this transaction, ielo reaffirms both its ambition and its ability to support the long-term development and consolidation of the telecom infrastructure market.
About ielo
A neutral and independent French telecom infrastructure operator, ielo designs and operates its own end-to-end fibre network. Built specifically for telecom operators, data centres, and institutional organisations, the network is made available to customers as if it were their own.
Formed through the merger of two companies founded by professionals from the Internet and open-source software communities, ielo accelerated its growth in 2020 following a significant fundraising round.
In 2026, ielo operates more than 21,000 km of metropolitan fibre network, over 12,000 km of long-haul fibre infrastructure, and connects nearly 200 data centres. This homogeneous next-generation infrastructure is designed, deployed, and maintained entirely in-house to deliver the highest levels of availability.
