ielo and NL-ix expand peering reach across Europe
Announced at the European Peering Forum (EPF) 2026 in Paris, the new partnership between ielo and NL-ix brings our two networks together to make peering more accessible across France and Europe. ielo customers can now connect remotely to NL-ix through our Remote IX service, while NL-ix gains greater reach across France through ielo’s nationwide network.
Connecting two networks
We’re pleased to announce a new partnership with NL-ix, a leading Dutch Internet Exchange with a pan-European footprint.
NL-ix operates across 8 countries, 16 metropolitan areas and more than 100 data centres in Europe. In France, ielo operates over 12,000 km of long-haul fibre and 22,000 km of metro fibre, covering 120 metropolitan areas and connecting around 200 data centres.
By interconnecting our networks, we’re bringing together NL-ix’s European peering reach and ielo’s extensive network footprint in France, making it easier for networks to connect and exchange traffic across Europe.
Bringing NL-ix to ielo customers through Remote IX
For ielo customers, the partnership adds NL-ix to the Internet Exchanges available through our Remote IX service.
This means customers can connect to the NL-ix peering ecosystem directly through the ielo network, without having to deploy their own infrastructure or establish a physical presence at the exchange.
For networks looking to expand or diversify their peering strategy across Europe, this provides a simpler route to new interconnection opportunities while avoiding the operational overhead of deploying infrastructure at every exchange they want to reach.
Remote peering can complement IP Transit, diversify existing interconnections or provide access to new networks. In each case, the benefit is the same: greater flexibility in how customers build and manage their IP connectivity.
Expanding NL-ix’s reach in France
As NL-ix’s only partner in France, ielo provides access through its nationwide network, making the NL-ix peering ecosystem easier to reach for networks across the country.
By combining NL-ix’s pan-European peering platform with ielo’s extensive infrastructure coverage in France, the partnership connects more networks to more peering opportunities — without adding unnecessary complexity.
A simpler way to reach more peering opportunities
As networks look for greater control over how traffic is exchanged, peering can play an important role in diversifying connectivity, improving resilience and building a more flexible IP strategy.
At ielo, we want to make those options easier to access.
Through Remote IX and our connections with Internet Exchanges such as NL-ix, customers can reach peering platforms beyond their own physical footprint, using the ielo network to get there.
More reach. More choice. Less complexity.
