March 2026: network infrastructure events you don't want to miss
Some industry events serve as key milestones for the professionals who design, operate, and interconnect networks. This March, three events stand out for their strong technical focus and the quality of the discussions they foster: FRnOG, the QGIS User Conference, and aPEERo. FRnOG 43 – March 20 in Paris
Now a must-attend event for the telecom community, FRnOG brings together network professionals for a full day of presentations and discussions covering the latest technical developments and emerging trends across our industry.
As always, the conversations won’t stop when the talks end. We’ll be continuing the discussions at our traditional After the After, an informal gathering that is rarely any less technical.
QGIS User Conference – March 24-26 in Brest
A first for ielo: we are proud to take part as an event sponsor at the QGIS User Conference organised by OSGeo-fr.
Did you know that mapping plays a critical role in network engineering? It supports every stage of the infrastructure lifecycle, from design and planning to operations and maintenance.
Within our engineering team, QGIS is used daily to:
- Design fibre routes for deployment
- Model infrastructure expansion projects
- Maintain an accurate technical inventory of the network
This event provides an excellent opportunity to engage with the geospatial community and exchange ideas around open source tools that have become essential to the development of modern telecom infrastructure.
aPEERo #22 – March 31 in Lille
Organised by FRNIX, the ielo team will also be attending the latest edition of aPEERo, which we are sponsoring alongside Prysmian.
At a time when sovereignty, performance, and security challenges are increasingly interconnected, interconnection choices, whether through peering or transit, remain strategic decisions. These choices directly impact service quality, latency, and overall network resilience.
Held alongside the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC), the event will also be an opportunity to highlight a point that is sometimes overlooked: cybersecurity always begins with networks that are fully controlled, transparent, and built to last.
ielo will be showcasing its Lille Regional Technical Centre, featuring live fibre splicing demonstrations and insights into our technical expertise.
